Even with the infamous Nashville humidity, summer is our favorite time of the year for sunset weddings. Tennessee really shines in the summer with her glowing fireflies and lush foliage, and it’s the perfect opportunity for al fresco wedding ceremonies and receptions.
As I compiled the following images, I let a welcoming, outdoor garden-inspired reception be my guide. I think these would be perfect for your Nashville summer wedding!
We’re in love with everything by Bergs Potter with a special emphasis on the raw pots in the color “rosa.” These vessels are so quality, gorgeous, and unlike any other pot we’ve seen. While visiting Hewitt Garden and Design Center last weekend, I purchased the Neptune pot and love it!
Placing a few of your favorite plants in these pots around key areas of your reception is a great way to infuse personality into the space. The best part is that you can enjoy them for years to come as a keepsake from your wedding.
The right lighting makes all of the difference. Choose warm lighting, not cool-toned light reminiscent of a DMV lobby. I’ve had my eye on the Stargazer lights from Terrain for my own backyard, and they’d be stunning at a wedding reception, too. Just imagine how beautiful they’d look over an outdoor bar or dance floor!
Landscape lighting is another element not to be overlooked. Intentionally placed uplights add depth and dimension to an otherwise dark expanse, really bringing a space to life. We used Nashville Event Lighting at my wedding and loved working with them!
Last but certainly not least is candlelight. In every floral proposal we create, candles are always something we encourage our couples to use. Whether you choose votives, taper candles, pillar candles, or all three, the ambiance and natural glow they create are unmatched.
As we mentioned earlier, Nashville humidity is no joke! Providing guests with quality fans or parasols they’ll actually want to keep would be much appreciated. If your ceremony location is in direct sun, consider adding umbrellas to the seating area as well.
We love to create unforgettable floral designs that capture the essence of the season, and if these ideas resonate with your vision, we’d be thrilled to help you bring it to life. Nashville brides, inquire with us to get started!
