After one of our recent weddings that happened just outside of Nashville, we received a very kind text from the mother of the bride. She was talking about how much she and her guests loved the designs, and she also noted something that meant a lot to us:
Every time Ella [Frances] and I [Jane] send out a floral quote, communicate with our couples, create floral designs, place a flower order, or clean up after a wedding, we do it to the very best of our ability.
As Nashville wedding florists, we’re motivated to do an excellent job for our couples– we understand how significant of an investment flowers are and the long-lasting impact our designs have on each wedding day. We’re also driven by our own desire to create something extraordinarily beautiful– to outdo ourselves each time we pick up a stem.
With that said, the biggest driving force behind what we do revolves around our understanding that we are not only creating for our couples or for ourselves, but for Jesus.
What this means is that when you receive a quote from us, we treat it as if we are sending out a quote to Jesus. This may seem pretty odd or over-the-top, but when you’re acting as though you’re sending a quote to the Creator of the world, you make sure you feel good about your pricing and the design ideas you’re proposing!
When we show up the morning of your wedding, we design as though we are designing for Him.
Every time we communicate with you, whether that’s through email or in person, we do so with kindness, integrity, and respect.
After your wedding reception, we come back for clean-up. We do so efficiently and thoroughly as if we were cleaning up one of His venues.
When we take the time to create designs more sustainably, we do this to better honor His world and all the inhabitants in it.
The list of examples could go on and on– this concept applies to each step of our work as floral designers!
We don’t do this out of fear that God will be mad at us if we don’t do a perfect job (because we are human beings and we are not perfect), but because we genuinely want to do it this way, and it adds even more meaning to our work as Nashville wedding florists!
Here are three Bible verses about work ethic that showcase where this concept comes from:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might…”
Ecclesiastes 9:10 ESV
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
