Not every bride cares about great design, and that’s okay. Since you’re here reading our wedding flower tips, it looks like you do. Welcome– you’re in the right place!
Below, I’m going to share five tips that will help your wedding day turn out stress-free, stunning, and memorable in the best way.
Our first tip is to look to nature for inspiration– especially when it comes to your color palette. This will help so much with keeping everything about the day more visually cohesive.
For example, if you’re having a summer wedding, the scenery will naturally be more vibrant as will your guests’ attire. In photos and real life, this translates beautifully!
I created four seasonal palettes shown below to better illustrate what this could look like color-wise. Feel free to save them for inspiration!
A white and green color palette is a classic for a reason– it’s very pretty! With that said, consider embracing more colorful blooms at your wedding.
As we talked about in the first tip, playing into the colors and vibe of your wedding’s season can make a big difference in the look and feel of the entire atmosphere. The right floral color palette looks amazing in photos, completely transforms the mood, and makes visual sense.
Extra Tip: Consider your bridesmaid dress colors, the season, the venue, your favorite colors, the colors that complement you, and your invitation suite when thinking about which colors to choose.
Instead of “little pops of flowers” everywhere, we highly recommend putting putting wedding flower budget toward more impactful statement designs like:
Example: If you were thinking about putting a row of bud vases on each reception table, put the same amount of money you were going to spend on those and instead put your budget toward a suspended floral design. This design is much more memorable, looks great in photos, and is an anchoring piece to the room.
There are so many different combinations of how this can apply to your wedding flowers, and we’ll walk through ideas together after you inquire with us about your wedding flowers!
While it can be tempting to get your heart set on a certain type of flower, focus instead on the overall aesthetic you want to achieve.
While most of the time we can source a specific flower, sometimes, a flower is out of season or unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we’ll find the perfect comparable flower that fits the look and feel of your wedding!
This may seem obvious, but this tip is SO important! When you choose a floral designer that you trust and align with, you are saving yourself so much potential heartache.
Don’t choose your wedding florist because they’re the cheapest or will say “yes” to anything without providing any creative direction.
Choose a wedding florist who:
When you’re planning something as important as your wedding, you want to hire a floral designer, not an order-taker who isn’t able to offer their insight.
