For this styled shoot at Ila Bridal Boutique in Historic Downtown Franklin, we created floral designs that embodied springtime with an effortless garden-inspired feel. Three grounded floral arrangements created a textural vignette, while three hand-tied bouquets brought depth and softness to the different looks. To add more variety, Ella reworked one of the bouquets mid-shoot, and we also incorporated three ikebana-inspired designs using kenzans—perfect for sculptural tablescapes or welcome tables.
With a color palette of creamy neutrals, blush tones, soft greens, and subtle pops of color, we layered each element thoughtfully, letting the flowers’ natural movement enhance the space’s beauty.
When choosing which designs to provide for this styled shoot, Ella and I decided to create three grounded floral designs. Grounded florals were the perfect choice for this setting—they created multiple stunning focal points that we were able to move throughout the shoot.
We almost always recommend grounded floral designs to our couples because they are incredibly versatile and can seamlessly transition from the ceremony to the reception.
To further enhance the designs, we also provided ten ivory pillar candles in varying heights which cast a warm, romantic glow throughout the space. Ila Bridal Boutique is filled with beautiful natural light in every room, and the pillar candles made the space even more moody and romantic.
In addition to the larger floral designs, we created three ikebana-inspired arrangements using flower frogs and vintage compotes. These minimalist yet artful designs are perfect for petite table arrangements and are extra beautiful when paired with candlelight.
Their asymmetry and negative space allow each bloom to shine, creating an intentional, sculptural effect that feels refined yet organic.
This approach works beautifully for couples who want a touch of floral artistry in smaller, curated moments throughout their reception space.
Before the shoot was over, Ella and I made one more focal point. We took the three grounded floral designs and layered them down one side of the historic staircase, creating a romantic cascading effect. The addition of pillar candles in varying heights added depth, and it was so dreamy!
Now imagine an entire staircase lined with multiple grounded floral designs—this is such a stunning way to make a statement with florals at your venue space.
We were honored to work alongside such an incredible team of creatives who brought this vision to life! Nashville wedding photographer Steph Sorenson captured everything beautifully—her ability to balance true-to-life colors with a soft, film-like finish made every shot feel warm and organic. We absolutely love it when photographers let a flower’s actual colors shine.
Nashville wedding planner Joanna Lewis from Siena & Co. Events invited us to this shoot and made the entire experience fun, seamless, and collaborative. She’s not only great at her job, but is so friendly and easy to work with!
Kendall Hudson, who modeled and was the HMUA, was wonderful—professional, kind, and so talented at both aspects.
Ila Bastien, the owner of Ila Bridal Boutique, provided the shoot’s location and curated an incredible selection of wedding dresses. Her eye for styling made everything feel effortless. Ila is such an outgoing, supportive person with gorgeous gowns–we highly recommend her!
Each element of this shoot showcased the beauty of intentional floral design, proving that refined, organic arrangements really do speak for themselves. If you’re planning your wedding in Nashville, Franklin, or Leiper’s Fork and want wedding flowers that feel natural yet artful, we’d love to bring your vision to life.
